#14NTCDrupal4Multisite

This session is about strategies for building multiple websites with Drupal that can be used by nonprofits to make the most of their IT and communications investments. Speakers will provide first-hand experience using these methods, including a deep dive into the development of OpenAid (openaiddistro.org), a Drupal distribution build through a USAID-funding project. This session is for nonprofit professionals tasked with creating and managing online communication assets, especially websites built with open source technologies, like Drupal.

Attendees will walk away with an understanding of: 1) The many effective ways organizations can build a family of websites using Drupal, and the pros and cons associated with each; 2) The management and maintenance capabilities and limitations of leading multi-site approaches; 3) The large and growing collection of Drupal distributions, their advantages and limitations, and strategies for effectively using them; 4) How organizations have built custom distributions to serve their own needs, and also deliver a useful starting point for others in the open-source project.
